Construction of Zhivopisny Bridge over the Moskva River in the northwest of Moscow, which will be a part of future Zvenigorodsky prospect, is approaching to the end. It will connect prospect Marshala Zhukova with Krylatskaya Street and Serebryany Bor. The AST Hof Hotel and the Gostiny Dom Hotel are located near the bridge under construction. This bridge will be the second guyed one in Moscow after Krymsky Bridge but Zhivopisny Bridge will surpass it in dimensions. Its length will amount to more than one kilometer, 500 meters will pass over water.
72 solid orange ropes thirty centimeters in diameter support the bridge, each of them consists of fifty wire cables. The bridge will have two levels – one for metropolitan and another for cars; and at a height of 87 meters over the roadway a three-level restaurant in the form of a flying saucer will be situated. A viewing point will be arranged there so that visitors might watch Serebryany Bor, Tushino, Krylatskoe and Mitino. Two express panoramic elevators will convey visitors to the restaurant.
Architects are sure that this bridge will become a symbol of Moscow and one of the most beautiful constructions of the city. From above the bridge will be S-shaped. Architectural and artistic highlight of Zhivopisny Bridge is to be arranged by the New Year. The mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov has issued a special decree on account of that.
