A multifunctional business center with a hotel will be built during the period from 2008 to 2010 in 6 Konnaya Street, Saint Petersburg not far from Nevskiy Prospect and Moskovskiy Railway Station. The construction site (0.15 ha) was acquired by the Petr Velikiy Company. Nowadays it is occupied by a tumbledown four-storied residential construction that is of no historical value. Its dwellers will be resettled, and the house will be pulled down to foundation.
There are two cultural monuments of regional importance near the new business center. The first one is the house in Khersonskaya Street where Vladimir Bonch-Bruevich, a well-known Bolshevik and writer, spent several years; another one is the house of Pavlova in Konnaya Street. The place is perfect for an office complex: there are no large business centers in this part of the city yet.
Total area of the A-class office building and of the small four-star hotel will amount to 5 thousand square meters. It will be the first project of the Petr Velikiy Company as a developer. Formerly it only engaged in reconstruction and restoration. Among its projects we can mention the Alexandrinsky Theater, the palace of Peter the Great in the Summer Garden, the Sheremetievs’ palace, the Eliseevs’ house, the State Museum of the History of Religion, the Akimov Comedy Theater, yards and facades of the Glinka Capella House, facades of the Mariinsky Theater.
