Shukhovskaya TV tower in Moscow has celebrated its 85th jubilee. Even now the tower, where the Soviet television started, is considered one of the best exemplars of engineering, but urgently needs renovation. When Ostanskinskaya TV tower was built Shukhovskaya tower started to loose its television functions and turned into an architectural monument.
Now the tower urgently needs being reconstructed as the last renovation works were held here 30 years ago. It is necessary to clean the tower, to replace some elements with newer ones, and to set additional metal constructions – after the renovation the tower may become a tourist object. There has been developed a project of creation of a thematic museum complex, business-centre, cafes and restaurants, and special areas for tourists. http://www.russia-ic.com/news/category/1/
