The restoration of the hall of Vrubel, a well-known Russian artist, finished in the State Tretyakov Gallery. The renewed hall is open for visits again. Among the changes you can note a new framework for the central picture “Princess of the Dreams”, and also the works that have never been exhibited before in the permanent exposition. Among these works you can note the ornamental fireplace, a work by Vrubel.
Nevertheless, the main changes were in the hall itself. The paintings were interchanged and extra lighted so that they could exist more harmoniously within the hall space. The walls were painted in pearl blue to make the most complete and strong impression possible. According to Galina Churak, the head of the latter half of the 19th century – the first half of the 20th century painting department, this color fits exactly the Vrubel epoque and also combines perfectly with his style. This background intensifies the vision of every painting of the artist, which makes them more expressive.
