The Oktyabrskaya Railway Company projects to launch a new luxurious named train on route from Moscow to Saint Petersburg next year. As the head of the Oktyabrskaya Railway Company, a branch of the Russian Railway Company, Viktor Stepov specified at the press conference that took part on Monday, exclusive coaches for the President Express have already been put into production. These 43 luxurious coaches will be produced at the Tverskoy carriage-building works upon a special project by the end of 2007. Their cost is not determined as yet. However guests of Russia who stay at such hotels as the Swissotel Krasnye Holmy or the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 must be delighted with an opportunity to travel in Russia in a new comfortable train.
Nowadays several named trains of the Oktyabrskaya Railway Company, in addition to common long-distance trains and expresses, run on the route Moscow – St Petersburg: Aurora, Nikolaevsky Express, Red Arrow, etc. Besides there are two private superior trains that run in this direction – Megapolis and Grand Express.
VIP trains also run in other directions in Russia. There are superior coaches in named trains “Kama” (Moscow – Perm), “Ural” (Moscow – Yekaterinburg) ant the train number 13/14 that runs from Moscow to Berlin and back. And by the end of the year VIP coaches will appear in trains that run towards Rostov and Nizhny Novgorod.
