The “20/21” program was opened on October 25. It is a long-term project intended for developing the cooperation forms between the leading experts of modern art. The exhibition in the General Staff was opened in the context of the project. It is devoted to the contemporary creative work of American artists – all exhibited works were created in the last three years. More than 60 works, among which “Poem about love (10 minutes after the Earth’s attraction is over)” by Adam Cviyanovich and “Undeserved advantage” by Kristin Baker, are exhibited. Dmitriy Ozerkov, the curator of the project, says that the organizers of the exhibition tried to preserve the “Hermitege style” - the distinction between interest and scandal. The works are drawing attraction but they are not shocking. Each work was selected by the owner of the collection Charles Saatchi from Great Britain, the secretary of the London Royal Academy of Arts Norman Rosenthal and Russian curators as well. The State Museum doesn’t plan to organize the permanent exposition of modern art. The “20/21” program was launched with the purpose to see what will form the museum collection of the second half of the 19th – the beginning of the 20th centuries. Minimum 3 years are needed to realize the project. During this time from 6 to 9 exhibitions are planed to be organized. The Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 is located quite opposite the Dvorcovaya square where the Hermitage is situated.
