Today the State Historic Museum in Moscow opens the exhibition "On the waves of our memory. City life of the 1920s-60s". The exposition unfolds everyday city life of various social layers of the Soviet people in the Stalin epoch. The visitors will see the interiors of both communal and elite governmental flats. For the first time personal belongings of Alexander and Maria Ulyanovs, Alexandra Kollontay, Yakov Jugashvili, and Alexey Tolstoy are on display. The articles are exhibited against the background of posters, painting and graphic works, newspapers, magazines, and photos featuring the most important events of that period. Fragments of popular films of that time are demonstrated to better convey the atmosphere of the epoch. The exhibition runs till March 31, 2007.
