On June 1 an exhibition of Steve Bloom, an animal photographer, called “The Wild World” opened in the center of Moscow in Strastnoy boulevard. All visitors can see large and bright photos of wild animals in their natural habitat twenty-four hours a day and free of charge in the open air. Among the characters of these one hundred photos you can also notice the endangered species registered in The Red Book. With the help of his works Mr. Bloom wants to attract the public attention to the problems of the unexplored wilderness and to show that the animals can feel and express emotions just like people do. Steve Bloom, a native of South Africa, awarded by several international prizes, including the prize of the International Guild of Russian Photographers for the best photos of the animate nature, has come to Russia to open the exhibition himself and is ready to communicate with the audience. A lot of people have come despite bad weather. The “Afisha-World” travel magazine has organized the exposition. Every photo is accompanied with a list of curious facts concerning the animal represented on it. An IC is open nearby where you can buy photo albums, T-shirts and other souvenirs. The exhibition that passed successfully in Denmark and Great Britain will last two months. This is not the first project of this kind organized by “Afisha-World” magazine. Last summer an exhibition of the French photographer Jean Artus-Bertran took place in Moscow. His photos represented the Earth from the bird's-eye view.
