An exhibition of the photographs from Zurab Tsereteli’s personal archive opens in the Museum of Contemporary Art (not far from the Golden Apple boutique hotel). This photo selection is supposed to continue the photo archive series of the museum.
The exhibition is timed to the 40th anniversary of the Moscow studio of the present President of the Russian Academy of Arts. This space served as the creative workshop of the artist since 1960s up to 2007 when it was transformed into an exhibition hall of the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art.
Tsereteli’s studio on Tverskoy boulevard became one of the main Moscow attractions, with the guests including US President George H.W. Bush, UN Secretary-General Javier Peres-de-Cuellar and other eminent guests, as well as some distinguished cultural and science figures (Evgeny Evtushenko, Andrey Dementyev, Chingiz Aitmatov, Vasily Aksyonov, Tair Salakhov, Yury Kuper, Anatoly Polyansky, etc).
However, the idea of the organizers lies not just in showing the viewer a series of the official high guest meetings, but rather in trying to unriddle the charisma of the master himself, with his great sincerity and passion attracting the most interesting and gifted people from the whole the world.
The exhibition is open up to February 17.
