The Moscow Easter Festival began on the day of Holy Easter, on April 8, from church-going bell of the five belfry. This musical festival will be held till May 9 on all big showcases of Moscow.
In Saint Petersburg the celebration began from Easter chime in the cathedral of Christ’s disciples Petr and Pavel. During the so-called “Zvonilnaya nedelya” (“Bell Week”) a special concert of bell music will be given in Petropavlovskiy cathedral. In Saint Petersburg the Easter Festival will go on till May 6. The concerts will take place in academic Chapel, small Philharmonic hall, cathedral of Vladimirskaya icon of God’s Mother, Knyaz-Vladimirskiy and Svyato-Troitskiy Izmailovskiy cathedrals.
The Easter festival will also be held in 22 regions of Russia.
