This spring all museums of Moscow will be open for free visits during two days – on April 18 and on May 18. Free admission to all museums, exhibition halls and art galleries of the capital will be timed to the Days of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Moscow. Working hours of cultural objects will also change – they will open at 10 am and will close at 8 pm. Free of charge sightseeing trips including walking-tours to main places of interest will be organized. Tours in Kolomenskoe will be guided by students and senior pupils. Government of Moscow prepared a real surprise for Muscovites and guests of the city. Only on these days they will be able to visit more than one hundred buildings on restricted access: the ancient halls in the House of Governor-Generals of Moscow in 13 Tverskaya Street (nowadays sessions of the city government are held there), the Metropol Hotel and Le Royal Meridien National Hotel, buildings of embassies, the residence of the merchant Nikolay Stakheev in Novaya Basmannaya Street, the palace of the duma clerk Averkiy Kirillov, and the wooden house in Turchininov side street. The general public will be also welcome at the Pashkov House for the first time after restoration. It’s worth spending these warm spring days watching the ceremony of posting the foot and mounted guards of the President’s Regiment that takes place on Sobornaya Square of the Kremlin, visiting Kuskovo and Ostankino estates, Donskoy, Novodevichiy, Spaso-Andronnikov and Vysoko-Petrovskiy convents.
