The «Petrovskiy Alyans» company has announced its plans to erect a new hotel complex with a yacht club on the Petrogradskaya side of the city. The complex will be located on the territory of the «Spetstrans» factory specializing on the water craft construction and maintenance. According to the expert evaluation, the project’s cost will exceed $100 000 000. The VTB bank is supposed to be the key creditor. The project will be especially relevant on the threshold of the international sailing regatta to take place in the Northern capital in 2009.
After the «Spetstrans facory» is transferred from the Petrovskiy island, a 3 hectare territory will be free for building new hotels, entertainment centres and special sport facilities. This territory is part of the Great Petrovskiy park, which is a regionwide meaningful monument. The future complex is expected to occupy the territory of nearly 50 000 sq.m, whilst the local bay will be used to create the yacht club. Experts concur that the most expedient category for the future hotel would be the four-star or apartment categories. The construction of the hotel would perfectly solve the problem of the accommodation of the sailing regatta participants to come to Saint Petersburg in 2009.
