The first light and musical holiday show «The Arts Square» took place in the center of Saint Petersburg in the presence of the city’s governor Valentina Matvienko. The citizens got it as a New Year and Christmas present.
The grand multimedia show comprising laser animation, slideshow and fireworks is demonstrated to the viewers on the central facade of the Russian Museum (within several minutes of walking distance from the Renaissance Baltic Hotel). To the accompaniment of the music pieces by Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Mussorgsky and Beethoven dozens of floodlights depict the episodes of the city’s glorious history from Peter the Great to Pushkin. The performance involves the fragments of the art collections from the State Russian Museum. The director of the show is Lev Levinson.
The show was prepared over the staggering 1,5 months, while abroad it takes at least half a year to get ready with a show of that kind.
The organizers of the performance assure that on the New Year night the show will be visible from every place of the city.
The «Arts Square» show lasts 24 minutes and can be seen every night till January, 8.
