In the end of 2008 renewal work will be started in the oldest five-star hotel of the capital – Baltschug Kempinski hotel, said Tuesday the vice-president of the Kempinski hotels group for Eastern Europe, director-general of the Baltschug Kempinski Moscow hotel Gianni van Daalen. The reconstruction work is expected to last 3 years and will touch on the whole infrastructure of the hotel. However, the hotel itself will stay opened for the guests. According to the renovation plan, suites overlooking the Kremlin will be reconstructed in the first place, followed by the public areas such as halls, bars, restaurants, etc. that will also get a new interior. The last in the reconstruction turn will be the rest of the rooms and suites and the spa-center of the hotel. All in all, the renewal of the hotel will cost about 30 million euro. Gianni van Daalen underlines that by the time the reconstruction work comes to an end, most of the hotels of the world hotel brands that are being opened today will have lost their novelty, whilst Baltschug, in contrast, will be fully renovated. The Baltschug Kempinski Moscow hotel was opened in 1898. In 1992, after a reconstruction, the Baltschug Kempinski 5-star hotel became the first deluxe hotel in Moscow and the first hotel in the capital to enter the prestigious international association «The leading Hotels of the World». The hotel disposes 230 guest rooms, including 33 suites and several apartments.
