A project of constructing the second circular metro line will be presented at a session of the communal city building council this summer. At this very session it is planned to decide whether building of a smaller circular line is reasonable or it is better to consider the project of a big circle line developed 50 years ago.
It is also known that metro lines` construction costs less than in Europe – 80-120 million Euros for one kilometre and all necessary equipment, while in Russia it costs around 63 million Euros. The new metro line is to be built in order to let passengers change from one line to another in a more convenient way instead of going to the central interchange routes and the central circular line. In this way Moscow Metro is planning to introduce 15 kilometres of new lines in the nearest 2.5 years. http://www.russia-ic.com/news/category/1/
