From February 12 to 18 the ancient town of Yaroslavl will be hosting the traditional festival "Yaroslavl Pancake Week, the Main Pancake Week of the Country". Throughout the whole festive week a number of big events will be held: a festival of fireworks, an ethnic music festival, a theatre festival, a universal interregional fair, a festival of air balloons, and, certainly, open air celebrations with bounteous regaling, a carnival procession on Shrove Sunday, and burning dolls of straw. The prior tasks of the organizers are providing merry and comfortable rest for dwellers and guests of Yaroslavl, as well as attracting tourists from other regions of Russia and abroad. Around a million tourists are expected to visit Yaroslavl during the Pancake Week of Russia. |
