The construction of the first chargeable road will start next year in Moscow region. The road that is almost 20 kilometers long containing six strips will discharge Minskoe shosse, it will start at the junction of Molodogvardeyskaya street and the Moscow ring road, then it will pass to the north of Odintsovo and will join «Belarus» road at the 33rd kilometer. The road will be safe, with modern junctions and no traffic lights. The fare being proposed is two rubles per kilometer. Different modes of payment will be provided. The speed will be limited to120 kilometers per hour. The construction is valued at 17 milliards of rubles and is planned to be finished in 2010. It is the opinion of the Moscow region government that chargeable alternative roads are necessary at almost every direction from Moscow to Moscow region. Many roads in Moscow region are now overloaded several times, and the drivers spend a lot of time in traffic congestions. The alternative roads can unload the main directions approximately by a third. The most important project is the high-speed road from Moscow to St. Petersburg. A chargeable road will also connect Moscow and Domodedovo airport. The Moscow region transport minister Petr Katsyv has already mentioned the approximate fares for using Moscow region chargeable roads that will vary from one to five rubles. The minimum price will be apparently fixed for cars and the maximum price will be for trucks. Fire brigades, police and ambulance cars will use the roads for free.
