Saint Petersburg is preparing for the coming summer and tourist season. After restoration city parks and fountains are open, places of recreation and entertainment are cleaned up. The benches are painted, the trees are painted white, the fountains are clean and ready for the coming season.
Letniy and Mikhailovskiy gardens are finally open after long renovation works and routine maintenance. In April the garden workers planted and enrooted new trees, painted benches and fences.
Fountains in Saint Petersburg are opened not simultaneously, like in Moscow, but by turn. In April some fountains have already been turned on – a fountain near sports complex “Yubileyny”, fountains near Kazanskiy cathedral. The rest of fountains will be turned on one by one during May. By May 15 all fountains will work, including a remarkable one in the Neva river.
