On September 27 the Moscow Center of Arts presented a new exhibition of Andrew Moor. Andrew Moor was born and grew up in the USA during the cold war. The confrontation of two political and ideological systems made a huge impact on his creative work. It was communist culture and communist spirit that became the objects of his artistic research. In the 80s Moor started to travel to socialist countries and to take photos. The halls of Moscow Center of Arts offer a visitor to admire the best works from his popular series “Cuba”, “Vietnam” and “Russia”. Before going to any of this counties the photographer investigated vast materials about history and culture of communist states, he watched though numerous documentaries, and communicated with emigrants. However the way it was going on “behind the iron curtain” amazed Moor. The image of “hostile” countries was absolutely different to what was propagandized in the USA. Red Cuban cars, vivid Havana buildings with its picturesque signboards, Vietnam bamboo streets, neglected soviet theatres, red piano “Moscow” - Moor proposes visitors to answer the question what influence exerted the communist spirit upon the daily live of these countries and if they are ready to become a part of the capitalistic world. The exhibition will take place till October 21. The Moscow Centre of Arts is situated in Neglinnaya street, that is 150 m away from the Ararat Park Hayatt Hotel.
