A new travel itinerary – «King’s road» binding Priozyorsk and Vyborg - appeared in the region of Saint Petersburg. In the 5th century a section of the king’s road connecting all the Swedish fortresses lay here. This road started on the Russian territory by the Nienschanz fortress, ran through the whole territory of the present-day district Shuvalovo-Ozerki and then almost fully follows the trajectory of the Primorskoe highway. During many centuries – from the times of the Novgorod republic to the Winter war – all the events taking place in the Karelian Isthmus were centered around this itinerary. The program of the 2-day «King’s road» tour presupposes seeing all the attractions and sights located along the historical route – the residence of the Otto Kuusinen’s government, the functioning Lutheran church built by the architect Josef Stenback, the Mariiyoki country estate, the cathedral of Saint Nicholas founded in honour of the Russian army. The sightseers will also have the chance to see the regional museum located in the Lutheran church that was frequented by Nicholas II. In the very Vyporg (Viipuri) the tourists will make a tour of the town and the Vyborg castle, with a visit to the Monrepos park. The ultimate point of the itinerary will be the site of the ancient Tiver settlement. «The King’s Road» is the first project of the travel corporation «In the fantasy world» in Saint Petersburg – a subsidiary of the Moscow-based travel company «Fantasy World» specializing in original travel itineraries.
