A new 4-5 star hotel is to be built in Gelendzhik within the framework of constructing the «Tonkiy Mys» multifunctional complex. The complex will occupy the territory of 16 hectares surrounded by water. The lot will house living edifices (170 000 sq.m), a resort hotel (20 000 sq.m), conference and spa-centres. The complex will also comprise a quay of its own, restaurants and sport grounds. The aggregate investment bulk will total $300-500 mln. The project is reported to be under active construction, which is accompanied by searching a hotel operator.
The Krasnodar region is annually visited by more tourists than any other Russian region. The modern resort Gelendzhik is cozily situated on the seaside between two capes – Tolstiy and Tonkiy. The town’s name can be translated from Turkic as «White bride». Surrounded by the Caucasus mountains mollifying the cold and protecting from the wind, it is a perfect haven for relaxation and health invigoration. Gelendzhik is a home to 80 000 people (the indigenous population), whilst the number of tourists to the town amounts to 2,2 mln per year.
