The museum, “having tied the invisible thread of time,” aims to show one-and-a-half centuries of photography as it developed. Most of the exhibits are devoted to the city’s 20th century history, expressed in the photographers’ work: through-the-lens portrayal of industrialisation, the Second World War, Khrushev’s Russia. Times of change observed by city cameramen from the days of photography in its infancy to masters of the modern art.
