The village of Fedoskino is Russia's oldest centre of lacquer miniature painting. The history of the unique collection of works of Fedoskino miniature painting masters counts more that fifty years by now. The beginning of the collection has been put by several enthusiastic artists of Fedoskino craft. At the end of the forties of the previous century, having returned from fronts of the Great Patriotic War, they started to gather by grains the works of Lukutin's masters and the best works of their contemporaries with the purpose to teach those things to the growing up generation of Fedoskino artists. The years have passed, the collection has been replenished. More and more of new exhibits have been added. About the end of the seventies there comes a burst of interest towards the Fedoskino craft and all that is connected to it. The flows of native and foreign tourists flood the factory buildings. And, by the opening of the Moscow Olympiad in 1980, the factory started an exposition hall, which contained the collection totaling about two thousand of works of various artists by that time. Currently at our exposition hall you may get acquainted to the miniatures, the oldest of which are 150 years old. Those are the articles of Lukutin's factory, Veshnyakov's workshops and Austen's factory. By your own eyes you will see that the works of true masters are not subject to time, you will be able to trace the development of the plotline of the Fedoskino miniatures.
